We work in the following technology areas, although each new project usually brings fresh challenges:- Embedded Systems - 8bit, 16bit and 32 bit microcontrollers, from Microchip, Freescale, NXP , Cypress and TI Embedded firmware - written in structured C Data Acquisition - ADC converters 10 - 16 bit, front end signal conditioning Interfacing - I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485, USB Power  Supplies - DC to DC Switch mode PSUs, battery power supplies User interfaces - various keypad technologies, custom LCDs, character LCDs, LEDs and backlighting Low Power Wireless - using solutions from Microchip and TI, 868MHz, 2.4GHz, Bluetooth RFID - 125Khz, 13.56MHz discrete designs together with solutions from NXP, HID and Legic Analogue and Digital Design - signal conditioning and processing Design for Manufacture - features that make a product easier to manufacture PCB - single to multilayer PCBs, with experience with layout for Low Power Radio and switching power supplies Assembly of PCB prototypes - assembly of prototype PCBs with SMD down to 0402 Product Prototyping - Arduino platform and also the Digilent Chipkit platform Mechanical - General 2D mechanical design with some 3D mechanical Mechatronics - motor control, relays, solenoids Functional Test Design - functional testing for units in manufacture Functional Test Jig Design - Design of test jigs to enable PCBs to be tested and programmed prior to assembly High Pressure Diecasting and Plastic Injection Moulding - managed project and supplier The common tools we use are :- General Documentation and Project Management - Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, PROJECT, POWERPOINT Embedded Firmware - Compilers from Microchip, Keil, IAR - Diagramming tools from Pacstar Mechanical Design -  DraftSight, Geomagic Design and Freecad Simulation, Schematic Capture, PCB layout - LTSpice, Altium Designer, Kicad
